Judy Johnston receives Cubitt Award marking 30 years volunteering in Pony Club

CUBITT AWARD: Judy Johnston received the Cubitt Award for 30 years’ volunteering from Liz Lowry, Pony Club Area Representative. (FW36-512NN)

JUDY JOHNSTON, a great friend to North Down Branch of the Pony Club, has received the Cubitt Award for 30 years’ volunteering.

She joined in 1954 and has embraced the Pony Club life and continues to help out and support at nearly every event held by the branch and others in the Area over many years.

She helps with judging, stewarding, tack checking, setting up camp, catering and many other jobs. Her calm and reassuring approach to the task in hand brings out the best in nervous competitors and fellow volunteers.

Her memories of Pony Club camps from years gone by are hilarious and we can all learn a lot from her wealth of experience.

The North Down Branch of The Pony Club was very pleased to have Liz Lowry, Pony Club Area Representative, to present the prestigious Cubitt Award and 30-years Volunteering Bar to Judy at the Area Eventing Competition in July.
