SUNDAY, June 12 was week two of Ardnacashel Equestrian’s Summer Show Jumping League. This week started the slightly different format where £3 per entry was placed back into a prize fund for the class to be shared between the top placings. This definitely upped the competition on the day, with some people heading home £30 better off for winning their class!
Over a newly built, professionally designed course, competitors from cross-poles up to 1.10m had the opportunity to be in the money.
Local sisters, Emily and Rose Henderson, started the day off taking home some pocket money, both riding clear in the cross-poles class. Ardnacashel regular Lynne Forbes won the 70cm Senior class, with her lovely mare ‘Autumn’, to be followed by her son Sam winning the 1m class on ‘Harry’ – hopefully Sam gave his mum the money back!
Emma Jackson was definitely the winner of the day, taking first and second place in the biggest class of the day, the 90cm, with ‘Sid’ and ‘Lynskey’.
