Keen competition for Cydectin trophy

CYDECTIN WINNERS RI Farm
n Overall winner of the Cydectin Young Handlers’ Championship, held at Clogher Show, was Eve Woods from Islandmagee. She was congratulated by the show’s chief steward Marjory Blackburn; Paul Redmond, Zoetis, sponsor; and judge Olive Mercer, Dromara.

EVE Woods from Islandmagee fought a tough battle with finalists from all over Northern Ireland to take the Cydectin Young Handlers Championship at Clogher Valley Show. Providing keen competition for the coveted trophy, giving another excellent performance was Sophie McAllister from Kells.

Judge, Olive Mercer from Dromara congratulated all the competitors on their high standard of stockmanship and the presentation of their sheep.

Paul Redmond, Senior Account Manager with Zoetis presented each of the county winners with their awards, going on to present the champion and reserve winners with shepherd’s crooks. He said, “We are delighted to sponsor a competition which highlights both the standard of management that these animals have enjoyed and the expert handling of them on the day.”

Paul also paid tribute to all of the shows for organising the qualifying rounds and especially to Clogher Valley Show for co-ordinating and hosting the final competition.
