Ireland’s first and only four province blend whiskey, Kirker Shamrock, has secured a listing with Tesco Northern Ireland.
The brand will be listed in Tesco stores across the Province and available to purchase online through its website.
Kirker Shamrock Whiskey consists of six different whiskeys which have been curated from four different distilleries across the four provinces of Ireland. Kirker is based in Belfast.
The brand uses three different styles of Irish whiskey in a single blend, which is quite unusual. Single grain, single malt, and single pot still whiskeys all play their part, enlivened by first fill ex-bourbon and rich oloroso sherry casks.
The inclusion of a very mild peated profile celebrates an Irish tradition that has been widely overlooked in recent times, but one that is renowned for carrying and enhancing the complexity of flavours.
The end result is a distinctive flavour profile due to the unique collaboration of liquid and a generous blend of 60 per cent grain to 40 per cent malt/pot still split.
The component whiskeys have been carefully curated in each province of Ireland over a period of a year by Drinksology Kirker Greer, co-founder and Head of Liquid Development Richard Ryan.
Whilst the blend was created in Ulster, each province is represented by one distillery: The Great Northern Distillery from Leinster, The West Cork Distillery from Munster, The Shed Distillery from Connacht, and an unnamed heritage distillery in Ulster.
Kirker Shamrock is exclusively distributed internationally through Kirker Greer Spirits.
Not only is the brand listed in the UK and Ireland but in countries such as Germany, The Netherlands, France, and Poland.
Kirker Shamrock is available to purchase in Tesco Northern Ireland stores with an RRP of £32 for 70cl. It will also be available to purchase on the Tesco Groceries website.
