Laura constructs a future with South West College course

LAURA McDermott (pictured) from Kinawley, County Fermanagh, is an example of the rewards that can be gained from studying construction at South West College.

Laura completed her level 3 Extended Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment, then progressed to a Higher Level Apprenticeship and is now starting her level 6 Open University Top Up Degree in Building Services and Sustainable Energy at the college.

Laura currently works for TetraTech where she is involved in major construction projects.

Laura said: “I would definitely recommend the college. You can study a Foundation Degree part time and work for a local employer relevant to your course, earning while you learn.”
