LURGAN Show, which was scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 5 at Lurgan Park, has been cancelled for the second year in a row.
Organisers say they have reluctantly decided to cancel 2021’s event after it became clear it would not be feasible with uncertainty around Covid-19 restrictions.
They said they had looked at multiple scenarios to try to stage the show safely, but that it was not possible given the commercial implications of the government social distancing guidelines and the numerous additional Covid-19 health and safety requirements.
A statement from the directors, office-bearers and committee of Lurgan and District Horse and Cattle Show Society Ltd. said: “It is with deep regret that, after careful consideration, we announce the cancellation of the June 2021 event, owing to ongoing Covid-19 restrictions. From all of us here at Lurgan Show, we wish you well during these difficult times. Stay safe and we look forward to welcoming everyone back to Lurgan Park when it may again be safe to do so.”
