Just Live a Little, the Northern Ireland leader in healthy granolas for breakfast and snacking, is now supplying all its luxury and handcrafted products in fully recyclable packaging in its longstanding commitment to sustainability.
The small and progressive company, which is based at Portaferry in County Down and exports its granolas worldwide, has completed the transfer of its entire handmade granola range with the introduction of a low sugar, coconut chia granola and a whole almond granola in 400g recyclable doypack pouches. The granolas are also high in fibre.
“All our bags and boxes have now been replaced by the new recyclable packaging, which is also much more flexible in terms of on-shelf presentation,” says Jill Crawford, Just Live a Little’s commercial director.
“We’ve been moving steadily in this direction for some time and it reflects the company’s focus on waste elimination and the environment.
“Our base at Portaferry on picturesque Strangford Lough, an internationally recognised area of scientific interest, has meant environmental preservation has seldom been far from our thoughts,” adds Jill.
“It just takes time and the essential finances for a smaller producer like Just Live a Little to replace its longstanding packaging. All our granolas being supplied to retailers will be in doypacks by October.”
The new packaging is resealable and is also a response to requests from the company’s leading customers for recyclable packs.
Just Life a Little’s impressive customer base includes Waitrose, Tesco, Sainsbury and Ocado in Britain as well as Aldi Ireland and major retailers in Europe, Asia and the Middle East such as Auchan and Carrefour..
Just Live a Little produces five luxury oat-based granola flavours as well as healthy flapjack bars and high protein trail mixes for energy.
The company was formed by Jill and husband David in the kitchen of their farmhouse in 2011 and has developed an impressive reputation for quality and outstandingly tasty products.
As a result of a strategic focus on business outside Northern Ireland, Just Live a Little has become one of the Province’s leading food exporters and now supplies its luxury granolas to Asia, especially Hong Kong and Taiwan, as well as to Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, Italy, the Czech Republic and Slovenia.
Just Live a Little breakfast granolas and other cereals and snacks are all preservative-free and have been created by the husband and wife team.
The granolas are slow baked and are available in a range of delicious flavours.
The company also makes a gluten-free granola – Triple Nut from oats grown and processed in such a way that they don’t come into contact with wheat.
