Meanwhile on Saturday at Aarhus in Denmark, Limerick-born Shane Carey and the Maria Gretzer-owned mare ‘Fecybelle’, won their third Grand Prix in as many weeks. Their clear jump-off round in 35.84 seconds saw them finish over three seconds ahead of their nearest challenger.
This latest win comes on the back of a double of victories for Carey and ‘Fecybelle’ over the last two weeks at Sopot in Poland.
At the Winter Equestrian Festival in Florida, Co. Clare’s David Blake was part of the Irish-themed team who took victory in 10th Annual Great Charity Challenge, with Holy Ground Shelter for the Homeless collecting $150,000 as the lion’s share of the $1.3 million.
