Flowerfield Arts Centre’s annual Christmas Craft Market is now open, featuring a range of beautiful handmade gifts, food stuffs, artwork and jewellery.
The Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council is among those who have already paid a visit to this must-see festive shopping experience, offering his support to this unique part of the destination’s business community.
Speaking after meeting with some of the traders taking part, mayor Sean Bateson said: “The Christmas Craft Market at Flowerfield Arts Centre in Portstewart has gone from strength to strength in recent years, with more makers taking part and more people choosing to buy local produce as part of their Christmas shopping.
“The market brings together an impressive range of artisans, and during my visit I was delighted to have an opportunity to hear more about the stories behind their creations.
“As a council we are encouraging people to ‘shop local’ this Christmas and the craft market provides the ideal platform for this.”
Over the next few weeks members of the public will have an opportunity to ‘meet the makers’ behind some of the market’s popular arts and crafts items, sample delicious food and enjoy the feel-good festive atmosphere.
Whether you’re looking for food products, classic decorations, unique ceramics, glass, artwork or textiles, you’ll find endless treasures of bespoke gifts.
An extra special event will take place on Saturday, December 14, from 10am-noon, when there will be craft demonstrations, music and family activities to enjoy, all in the beautiful setting of Flowerfield Arts Centre.
The Christmas Craft Fair continues until Monday, December 23, and is open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, and 10am to 1pm on Saturdays.
