Moiled breeders planning busy year

n Irish Moiled Cattle Society directors who attended the board meeting at Ballinderry Inn.

THE first Irish Moiled Cattle Society board meeting of 2020 was held in the Ballinderry Inn, Lisburn, chaired by Brian O’Kane with NI directors, ROI directors, GB directors, the breed Secretary and Society President all in attendance.

Gordon Stockdale from Down-patrick, a past Society Director and Chairperson who was newly elected in October 2019 as the Irish Moiled Cattle Society President, was made very welcome by Chairperson Brian O’Kane.

A very special word of thanks went to Seamus Holmes who retired from his position of Republic of Ireland director and Vice-Chairperson of the society. Seamus has worked tirelessly for the breed over his

10-year period as ROI director and will be sorely missed.

With this retirement two positions became vacant. Ciara White from County Wexford was nominated and co-opted on as a ROI director until the 2020 AGM and Michelle McCauley was proposed for Vice-Chairperson.

Prior to the agenda, Ian Simpson, IRBS liaison officer, gave an update on the Irish Rare Breeds Society. The board would like to thank Ian for taking the time to come along.

A very busy and productive meeting was carried out.
