MEMBERS of Mossvale Riding Club recently took part in the British Riding Clubs’ Virtual Dressage Competition. This was a nationwide competition and there were over 700 entries from England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The competition was arranged during lockdown for riders with the cancellation of so many riding club events.
Amelia Wheeler, Tina O’Connor and Kate Russell competed in the Intro/ Prelim team section, finishing a respectable 26th out 82 teams. Amelia was the youngest by far at only 11 years old. All three riders performed brilliantly and scored very tightly to finish in the top half of their classes.
In the Novice section, Noah Brown, Victoria O’Connor and Erin Barlow competed and placed in eighth place out of 69 teams. In this section, Victoria was highest placed, finishing 14th individually in her Novice class.
Three Mossvale riders also entered the Freestyle Dressage to Music class. Erin Barlow was awarded third place in the Prelim section with her ‘80s themed piece, while Tori finished in eighth and Tina in 14th position. This was a great achievement for all three, having little or no experience of musical dressage.
Mossvale would like to thank the riders for the time and effort put into this competition and for representing the club.
Mossvale Riding Club have now recommenced activities and have a lesson and jumping schedule in place. The arena has been resurfaced and is available to hire.
