NEWRY Show, along with other local agricultural shows, did not have the opportunity to hold its event this year. Organisers are looking forward to have a show on the regular date, the last Saturday in June, June 26, 2021 at their new venue in Bessbrook.

In response to feedback received after last year’s show, organisers plan to increase the show area using additional space and improve the parking for lorries and trailers.

PLAQUE: The Irish Shows Association presented a plaque to Newry Show to mark the 150th Anniversary of the Show in 2018. (FW27-512NN)

They have also been approached about having additional show classes for cobs and other breeds. They are happy to discuss any further suggestions with those interested.

The Horse sections of the show have had increased numbers of entries over the last few years and, with the recent introduction of Miniatures and Donkeys, the variety of classes has increased.

The Working Hunter section has also had additional classes, with a young horse class last year, while Racehorse to Riding Horse had a performance class using the working hunter jumps.

CONGRATULATIONS: Judge Alison Crozier congratulates the winner of the Working Hunter Pony class at Newry Show in 2018, Sarah Cowan on ‘Take Two’. (FW27-511NN)

With all of these improvements, Newry Show 2021 promises to be bigger and better than ever!
