New software automatically uploads NI livestock data to APHIS

Software SM Farm

AgriWebb has announced its new farm management software now integrates with DAERA’s updated APHIS Online database.

The live connection allows Northern Irish beef producers to easily keep up with compliance requirements by recording animal movements, sales and deaths in their AgriWebb mobile app, which syncs directly to their APHIS account.

The APHIS reporting and submission process for cattle farmers was recently updated.

AgriWebb’s team – whose local office is based in Belfast – focused on ensuring this process is as simple, fast and effective as possible for farmers, by automatically synchronising data captured on mobile when out in the field, with a farm’s APHIS account.

While the AgriWebb-APHIS connection makes life easier for users to log cattle movements on and off farm, the real value goes beyond reporting and compliance.

As recently championed by the NFU, farm management software can help farms maximise margins, uphold reputation for quality and safe produce, and reduce carbon emissions.

Northern Irish farmers can gain deeper insight into their livestock to make better informed decisions on farm.

For example, the projected weight gain tool within AgriWebb’s platform will allow beef farmers to finish their cattle weeks or months earlier, not only boosting their bottom line but reducing emissions.

News of the new APHIS connection within the AgriWebb platform has spread quickly with over 30 Northern Irish farms already connecting their use of the software platform to the government database in the past few weeks.

“We want to help our users get more from their farms as well as simplify their cross-compliance requirements,” said Campbell Mauchan, UK General Manager at AgriWebb.

“We’re driven by a passion to help the British farming industry but understand and keep in mind that not every one of those British farmers have the same needs.

“As part of our region by region approach, we knew an APHIS integration would be imperative to help the Northern Irish farming community get the best and easiest experience with their record keeping.”
