THE directors of One Equine Trust are delighted to announce that a survey into the provision of all forms of Equine Assisted Therapy and Learning currently available in Northern Ireland will be conducted in the early months of 2023. The purpose of gathering this information is to provide a clear map of services currently available to potential clients/ beneficiaries, commissioning bodies both from the Departments of Health and Social Care, Education, and Justice and the private/ charitable sectors. It should also provide information around how current practitioners may grow their services to help meet ever-expanding needs and encourage the formation of partnerships and collaborations between interested parties to enhance delivery. One Equine Trust feel that the information gathered in this survey and the resulting report will be essential for the future development of services. This will provide valuable guidance around future training needs and provide pathways to safe practice for those currently undertaking training.
Are you currently providing services involving the use of equines to enhance human health? Are you currently undertaking or providing training in this area or are you intending to do so? Are you currently providing equines and /or facilities to practitioners in this area? If so, this survey is for your benefit, and One Equine Trust would very much like to hear from you with contact details for their researcher to use when the time comes. Please send your name, email address and phone number to: firstname.lastname@example.org, along with a brief paragraph about what type of service you are currently/ planning to provide and where you are located. If you are already listed on the One Equine website: oneequine.org/ then there is no need to contact them again, but please check that the contact details which they hold for you are up to date.
The report when published will only be useful if it is inclusive of everyone involved, and One Equine Trust believe it is important that their researcher is able to gather information from all types of Equine Assisted Activities practitioners so that they can understand better what is needed in the future to help you provide services that are both safe and economically sustainable. The cost of doing this survey is significant, so it is not an exercise that is likely to be repeated, so please help to make it as complete as possible. One Equine Trust look forward to hearing from you.
