THE Saintfield Horse Show, which is scheduled to take place on Saturday, August 1, was launched at a press and sponsor reception last Tuesday evening, kindly hosted by Racehorse Trainer, George Stewart at his Danescroft Equestrian Centre, Lisburn. George Stewart is the sponsor of the popular Racehorse to Riding Horse Class.
The Show has a new venue this year in Castlewellan – Eugene Milligan of Ballybannon Road, Castlewellan is very kindly hosting the event.
“Everyone who attended the launch on Tuesday had a fabulous time, with good food and drink, and seriously great craic,” said show organiser, Joan Cunningham.
Folk from across the equestrian world attended, including sponsors and friends in the media.
The Ulster Tatler will celebrate it’s 10th year of sponsoring the Ladies Side Saddle Class – the lucky winner of this will also receive a fabulous basket from Sean Cooney of Botanica International, who is also very kindly sponsoring a number of prizes. There will be all the usual Horse Showing classes, with the Supreme Hunter Championship, sponsored by Lagan Construction, Working Hunter, Pony Showing, Lead Rein, Family Pony, Miniature Horses and, of course, the event could not take place without the Novelty Dog Show!
The schedule is now available at wwww.saintfieldhorseshow.com Make your entries online – closing date is Friday, July 31. For anyone having problems, entries will be taken on the day, but please if at all possible make them online.
Every penny raised at the show will go towards Phase Two of the Saintfield Christmas Charity Ride Uganda Bore Hole Project. Log on to the Saintfield Christmas Charity Ride facebook page and listen to Pius Kulama, who attended the ride last December.
