THE NI Limousin Cattle Club held its 40th Annual General Meeting on August 4 at the Dungannon RFC.
The Chairman Finbar O’Brien extended a very warm welcome to everyone present and thanked them for taking the time to attend. During the course of the evening financial reports, Matters Arising and the Chairman’s Report were presented before committee nominations.
Mr O’Brien presented his chairman’s report acknowledging the successes of Northern Irish breeders during the prevailing circumstances of Covid-19 restrictions.
These successes were at BLCS sales within Northern Ireland and in Carlisle, club events such as The Rising Stars, Hilltown 5th Annual Female Sale and online show ‘Forever in Red Genes’.
The AGM gave the Chairman a chance to formally introduce the new club Treasurer, Shirley Fleming.
The nomination and election of committee members saw six new people join as the club was unable to hold an AGM in 2020 due to Covid-19 restrictions.
The six members duly elected were Philip Broome, Alan Geary, Brian McAuley, James McKay, Ryan McPolin and Henry Savage.
It was passed that Mr O’Brien would be co-opted to re-join as a committee mem-
ber. Remaining on committee are Joan Gilliland, Michael McKenna and Connor Mulholland.
During the break the committee elected Mr O’Brien to remain as Chairman for 2021/2022.
Jim Quail, President of the NILCC, thanked Mr O’Brien for all his hard work throughout his previous term in the chair and
wished him continued success within his position.
Future events to mark in your diary will be the NILCC Hilltown 6th Annual Sale of Haltered and Non-Haltered Females on Monday, August 30, at 7pm and the BLCS October Dungannon Sale of Bulls and Females on Friday, October 29.
