NIVA elects new president at annual general meeting

AT its recent Annual General Meeting on February 15 in Toomebridge, the North of Ireland Veterinary Association (NIVA) elected Alan Gordon MRCVS as the new president 2018-2019 after serving a year as Junior Vice President.

The role of NIVA is primarily to speak as one voice to represent the interests and views of all sectors within the local veterinary profession – in practice, government, research, industry and academia, along with communicating and developing important links with other stakeholders in the veterinary and animal health sectors.

Along with his day job as a practitioner, Alan Gordon will lead NIVA into 2018 working closely with the British Veterinary Association (BVA) and other local and national professional bodies. Mr Gordon was also elected as President of the BVA’s Northern Ireland Branch on the same evening.
