The organisers of the Farm Shop & Deli Show are inviting residents and businesses in Northern Ireland to nominate speciality food retailers for the prestigious Farm Shop & Deli Awards.
Butchers, bakers, cheesemongers, delis, farm shops, fishmongers, food halls, greengrocers, online retailers and village stores from the region can all be nominated over the next few weeks.
For 2022, this event is being held in celebration of those who have shown innovation to adapt their business during the challenges of the past few years.
Entries are open across nine regions and a range of categories to recognise those specialist retailers who are playing their part in creating a better world through sustainable initiatives, whilst supporting their customers, communities and suppliers.
Winners may have reduced food waste, changed packaging, introduced more sustainable suppliers, promoted eco-friendly initiatives or done something else differently that would have a positive impact on the planet in the future.
The organisers recognise it’s about making small steps when it comes to sustainability.
An esteemed panel of judges will consider the ways in which retailers adapted and evolved their businesses throughout the pandemic before announcing regional finalists in early April.
The winners will be revealed live from the Farm Shop & Deli Show, NEC Birmingham, on Monday, April 25.
Organiser of the Farm Shop & Deli Awards, Antonia Green, marketing manager at William Reed, said: “Local food and drink retailers are often at the heart of communities, and we want to recognise the hard work and dedication they have given during such challenging times. We are encouraging as many people as possible to help put their local stores on the map by telling us about the amazing speciality food businesses you have in your area.
“Your quick nomination could lead to them winning the ‘Best in Region’ title.”
There is a chance to win a foodie hamper from Fortnum & Mason for everyone who nominates.
