COUNTY Antrim farmer Norman Robson, from Doagh, near Ballyclare, has been elected as Vice President of the British Simmental Cattle Society.
The Robson family is renowned for its highly acclaimed and successful Kilbride Farm Simmental herd.
Norman is the third member of the family to hold an official role at the helm of the UK breed society. Father Billy Robson, OBE, is the only person in the society’s 50-year history to have been elected as President on two occasions – 1985/86 and 1999/2000; while brother Michael also held the prestigious role in 2010/2012.
Norman comes to this role with plenty of experience having previously been Chairman of the Ulster Pork and Bacon Forum, Pig-Regen and the UFU Pig Committee. He has also been Deputy President of the Ulster Farmers’ Union.
