IT was a busy weekend for Northern Lights NI Riding Club members! The weekend started at the Mid Antrim Two-Phase event at Laurel View and, whilst no placings were taken, a great day was had by Kenzie Watt on ‘Reme’. This pair had four faults in the show jumping, went clear in the cross-country and, whilst airing on the side of caution with the wet grass, this unfortunately cost them penalties for going over the optimum time.
Sunday, May 1 took Northern Lights members to Knockagh View Equestrian Centre to compete in Ballycorr’s Inter-club Team Show jumping Challenge. The club’s riders ended on a team score of four faults and took overall third place, as they were just beaten on the time.
Nothing is guaranteed when out show jumping and for this team to be out at the club’s first competition and taking a very well deserved third place is a fabulous achievement!
A massive thank you to Ballycorr Riding Club for organising the competition and ensuring that it was a fun relaxed day for all.
The Northern Lights are holding a show jumping day at Eglinton Equestrian Centre on May 15, starting at 11am for pony cross-poles. Come along for a fun relaxed day with prizes for all classes.
