FARMERS across the province could still be the proud new owner of a Limousin X heifer from Jalex Livestock for £10. The animal, named Hope, is the main prize of a new unique charity competition, with a draw date of the lucky winner on October 30.
What’s more, you now have the opportunity to see the animal, who weighs in at approximately 570 kilos, on Friday October 22 at Jalex Farm sale at 7.00pm. Competition entries will be processed at the sale as well as mart sales as follows: Markethill on Thursday October 21, Omagh on Saturday October 23, and Hilltown on Saturday October 23. Alternatively you can enter online at www.culchiecomps.com
All net proceeds will benefit the charity Air Ambulance Northern Ireland to continue their work in partnership with Northern Ireland Ambulance Service to provide the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service for NI.
James Alexander said, “We value the work of Air Ambulance NI and are pleased to support the charity so that the medical team can continue providing critical care at scene when it is needed. We encourage everyone to come along on October 22 to see Hope or secure your entry online. On average this medical team are needed by our farming community somewhere in NI every single week.”
The initiative is the brainchild of Libby Clarke from Air Ambulance NI’s Agribusiness group and a partnership between Jalex Livestock, Culchie Comps and sponsor HVS Liquid Gold.
Libby said, “Air Ambulance NI needs to raise £5,500 every day to sustain and develop this service which is there for all of us, 365 days of the year. Competition entry is available for £10 or six entries for £50. Someone will win and it could be you!”
