NORTH Coast Riding Club outdoor season concluded on Tuesday, August 13, with the Summer Jumping League Final at Coole Farm, Aghadowey. The ground conditions were perfect and not a drop of rain to be seen – what a difference a week makes! The thunderstorms the previous Tuesday had forced the final to be moved back a week.

Horse and rider combinations that competed on four evenings over the same height including the final, converted their points into prizes. Ross McAleese claimed the top spot in the Junior Jockey on ‘Ellie’; Diane Roxborough and ‘Ozzie’ were victorious in the Novice and Geoffrey Glass on ‘Olly’ won the Intermediate.

INTERMEDIATE: Geoffrey Glass, Bushmills, on ‘Ollie’, winner of the Intermediate Section, receiving The Night Time Perpetual Shield, presented by David Lamont, treasurer, at the concluding sixth show jumping event of the annual series, organised by North Coast Riding Club at Coole Farm, Coleraine. Runner-up was Diane Roxborough, Macosquin, on ‘Ozzie’. (FW34-507DL)

The final class of the evening, the Open, saw the honours going to Emma Marrs on ‘Tommy’, with just one point separating first and second place.

Well done to everyone.

Thanks to all competitors, supporters and helpers who came along each evening. Details of forthcoming events will be posted on the club Facebook page shortly.
