SOUTH West College (SWC) was delight-ed to recognise the achievements of hundreds of outstanding further education, apprenticeship students and schools partnership pupils at this year’s Celebration of Success events.
Joined by family, friends and tutors, the ‘Celebration of Success’ events, marked annually, featured three glittering award ceremonies at the Omagh, Dungannon and Erne campuses.
The vibrant award ceremonies are a highlight in the college calendar and recognise and celebrate the best of the best from SWC’s further education programmes, including Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 Diplomas.
Some awards recognise academic and skills excellence, whilst others reflect the dedication and commitment learners have made to the college community and future success.
On the day, campus managers welcome students and their families from across the Tyrone, Fermanagh, and Mid-Ulster areas and acknowledge the hard work and determination that each and every learner has demonstrated.
Before receiving their awards, guests were inspired by guest speaker Lee Verner. Principal Social Worker in the Western Health and Social Care Trust, who studied at the college from 2008-2010 before progressing onto higher education.
Lee made an awe-inspiring speech and advised students “to enjoy every minute and to be proud of what they have achieved”.
Leo Murphy, Interim Chief Executive at South West College, said: “It has been another successful year for us, with numerous awards and honours being bestowed upon our college students and staff.
“Our programmes continue to receive high recommendations by relevant inspecting and evaluating authorities, including the Education & Training Inspectorate, proof that our course provision is fulfilling the aspirations of the next generation of skilled practitioners and entrepreneurs.
“Congratulations again to each of our learners. I hope you and your guests enjoyed this memorable day, and I wish you continued success in the next stage of your career.”
South West College is still accepting applications for full and part-time courses starting September 2022.
