A new salad dressing has been developed and launched by PEPPUP, the Northern Ireland producer of authentic and nutritious Mediterranean foods, in time for the summer season.
The new dressing is fat free, has no added sugar or preservatives, and also gluten and dairy free.
The new product – PEPPUP’s second innovation in the past four months – is produced in 250ml bottles.
The main ingredients in the new dressing are roasted red peppers, wine vinegar, water and salt.
The latest product from the company, which is based at Newtownards, County Down, follows the launch in January of easy to eat Green Mild Baby Peppers and Yellow and Red Roasted Peppers.
PEPPUP founder and managing director Luca Montorio, who is originally from Turin, says the Italian-style dressing is a logical development for the company’s successful portfolio of Italian sauces, dips and pickles.
“The dressing is a perfect accompaniment for fresh salads, especially as the summer season with its outdoor barbeques is approaching,” explains Dr Montorio.
“The new product continues our long-standing commitment to foods that are both nutritious and delicious and free from allergens, fat and sugar,” he adds.
Dr Montorio is an experienced and qualified nutritionist from Ulster University.
He formed the award-winning artisan business with wife Liz in 2014 from a base at Newtownards.
The company has achieved substantial business throughout Ireland for its extensive portfolio of original roasted pepper condiments, including bolognese and pasta sauces, ketchups and dipping sauces.
Many of the foods have also won UK Great Taste and Free from Food Awards Ireland.
The small company, which is innovation-led and market-driven, has seen business grow substantially, especially with independent grocers, delis, home bakeries and family butchers throughout the island of Ireland.
