Phenomenal entries for virtual Summer Dressage League

- Advertisment -

DRESSAGE at Home and International has kicked off their Summer League with a bang. The second show was held over the weekend of June 5 and 6 and received phenomenal entries, with riders attending from all over Ireland, the UK and even further afield.

This online dressage company has gone from strength to strength. There is so much that appeals about online competing. All levels are catered for and company owner, Emma Hobson has introduced a wide variety of classes to suit all riders: dressage from lead rein to advanced medium; bareback dressage; side saddle dressage; bitless dressage; Dressage to Music from Intro to Advanced level.

As the company has expanded, so now have the jumping classes, with lead rein jumping, working hunter, 70cm and below; 80cm and higher. They have also introduced their pole vault class (dressage over poles) and expanded the in-hand classes to include in-hand dressage and long reining. These are perfect for younger horses, who are still developing and also perfect for the veterans to help keep them moving and prevent stiffening. The company also offers age and breed specific classes from Young Horses, Cobs Can, Veterans and Racehorse to Riding. There literally is something for everyone!

Part of the appeal is that Dressage at Home and International is ideal for building rider’s confidence and improving targets with training. All judges selected are hand-picked from across the globe, so that they encourage riders in the sport. The ethos of the company is encouragement and inclusivity. This even goes so far as finances: entries are cheap at £15 and there are no travel costs as there would be when attending a live show. It is accessible to everyone and there is no added stress with plaiting and show dress. Plus, every competitor gets a three-tier rosette through the post to help motivate and congratulate them on their success.

Well done to all the riders, the horses, ponies, mummies and daddies, instructors, videographers, grooms… the list goes on! It certainly is a team effort and you guys pulled it out of the bag, producing some phenomenal results! Huge celebrations are certainly in order.

Thank you to the amazing team of hand-picked and encouraging judges – Lucinda Webb Graham, Jacky Reid, Jenny Johnson and the scribes.

Dressage at Home and International has also announced exciting news that they are partnering with Bluegrass Horse Feeds, a local company. Bluegrass is now the official sponsor and the two companies have been working in conjunction to deliver informative blogs with regards to feeding the types of horses that can enter the classes (the stressy ex-racer, the veteran, older ponies etc.) All of the blogs and videos will be published via various online platforms, so keep an eye out for these.

There are lots of new exciting plans still in store for Dressage at Home and International, as they are officially launching their new merchandise; starting a teams competition and looking at developing the training side of the sport.

All information is available on Instagram (Dressage at Home); Facebook; or their website: www.dressageathome.com.

Further show dates are as follows: Week Four – Saturday, July 3; Week Five – Saturday, July 17; Week Six – Saturday, July 31; Week Seven – Saturday, August 14; Week Eight (FINAL) – Saturday, August 28. Riders can dip in and out of the shows (including the final) and so do not need to be in the league to enter.
