FOUR representatives from North Down Pony Club (Abbey Wallace, Eloise Keers, Max Lewis and Bailey McGuile) recently travelled over to England to compete in the prestigious Bombers Arena Tournament at Dallas Burston Polo Club, Warwickshire.
The two-day arena tournament marks the start of the much anticipated 2022 polocrosse season, with players from clubs across the UK showcasing their polocrosse skills, horsemanship and knowledge of the game.
North Down polocrosse players have worked tirelessly throughout the winter months to enhance their skills under the watchful eyes of head coach, Angela Fynn.
Throughout the tournament, North Down players demonstrated determination, teamwork and talent during the fast paced and exhilarating chukkas.
Fantastic results were achieved, with placings of first and third in the Open Junior sections. Max Lewis won best male player of the tournament and Abbey Wallace won best female player in the section. This was a wonderful achievement for all involved, and a reflection of the teamwork and dedication shown by coaches, members and supporters of Area 17 polocrosse in Northern Ireland.
Team members are looking forward to continuing on with their busy season schedule, culminating in Pony Club Polocrosse Championships in August.
