THE Northern Ireland (Area 17) Pony Club Mounted Games team will soon be heading off to Royal Windsor Horse Show. The team, consisting of Adam Booth (North Down), Laura Loughlin (Route), Harry McMillan (Iveagh), Sam Staats Howard (Route), Sain Lusby Johnston (North Derry) and Timothy McNabney (Mid Antrim), will be taking part in the Platinum Jubilee at Windsor, which will run every night but the big one on Sunday night, May 15.
It is hoped the Queen may be present at the show, but members of the Royal Family will be. The team have special costumes and many well known stars will be there.
This is a once in a lifetime experience for these local Pony Club members, which they will remember forever. It is being televised.
Local Pony Clubs will also have four young first time mounted games teams out at Balmoral Show on Friday, May 13 and they are looking forward to that just as much as the team going to Windsor!
The pandemic affected Pony Club Mounted Games, as it is a contact sport, but they are coming out of it very strong.
Area 17 is also delighted to be sending a Dressage team to Royal Windsor. The team consists of Grace Kehoe (Iveagh), Caoimhe Crozier (East Down), Charlotte Keers (North Down) and Holly Donnan (Iveagh), who will ride two ponies.
Very best wishes to all these local Pony Club members!
