SATURDAY, August 18 saw the third and final qualifying round of the Crawford Embroidery Dressage league taking place at Gransha Equestrian Centre, Bangor. For those riders who started back in June when the league began, their hardwork and dedication is paying off. Scores are on the rise and confidence is growing.
Competitors in the Advanced Medium class were first to go under the watchful eye of the judge for the day, Lucinda Webb Graham. Winners were seasoned campaigners Lucy Adams and ‘Mr Ben’. Rosie Paterson and ‘Homegrown Rolex’ claimed second place.
Jennifer McCann and ‘Oakhill Charm’ took victory in the Elementary class, ahead of Sharon McGimpsey and ‘Chilli’. Third place went to Shenade Duggan and ‘Harry’.
Nicola Tann and the attractive grey mare ‘Glenann May’ rode two consistent tests in the Senior Novice to take home the red rosettes.
Senior and Junior Prelim classes were well supported with plenty of quality on show. Sylvia Henry continued her winning streak with Daline Hamilton’s beautiful coloured gelding ‘Dan’. Laura McVeigh and ‘Hilltop Foggey’ were second and Ellyn Gourley with ‘Dare to Desire’ took third. Jenny Woods and ‘Alfie’ were victorious in the second Senior Prelim class.
Amy Harvey had a very successful outing with her two Prelim horses in the Junior Prelim class. ‘Indian Robe’ clinched victory just ahead of ‘Next Venture’. Third place went to Kate McLaughlin and ‘Killarney Mist’.
Sharon McGimpsey recorded a victory in the side saddle class with ‘Chilli’ and Laura McVeigh with ‘Hilltop Foggey’ were second.
Cara Swanson and ‘Ardquin’ were the victors in the Senior Intro class, just ahead of Daline Hamilton and ‘Dan’. Third place went to Sheila Robinson and ‘Bonnie’. Shana Martin and ‘Peasedown Bobby Brown’ won the Junior Intro class.
Nicole Barr and ‘Krysta’ claimed the top spot in the young horse class. Lisa Booth and ‘Flossy’ took second, while Cara Swanson and ‘Ardquin’ were third.
