THE Young Farmers’ Clubs of Ulster is delighted to announce that Randalstown YFC is the winner of the prestigious Club Of The Year Award, winning the new Ann Cameron Cup for Club of the Year.
Winning Club of the Year is a huge achievement and this reward is celebrated by all members of Randalstown YFC for the exceptional work they have done to achieve this prestigious award over the past 12 months.
YFCU would like to show appreciation to all Young Farmer’s Clubs across Northern Ireland for the excellent work they have done during the Covid-19 pandemic to keep clubs running smoothly and taking up the challenge to stay connected through virtual communication.
The clubs that made it to the finals were Kilraughts YFC, Ballywalter YFC, Randalstown YFC, Lisnamurrican YFC, Donagh-adee YFC, Kilrea YFC and Collone YFC. The seven finalist clubs were challenged with creating a presentation on how they would like to shape their club for the future. All presentations were excellent but Randalstown YFC presented a brilliant guide with exciting strategies for club recruitment, retention and social media.
The YFCU is delighted that Power NI is continuing to support the Club of the Year competition, which sees clubs compete in six stages covering areas such as club accounts, recruitment and retention, community work and best practice for club management. Seven clubs who made it through to the final stage were asked to deliver a presentation on ‘Our Club, Our Future’ before the winner was announced at the YFCU AGM on Saturday, April 10, via Zoom video communication platform.
Commenting on the competition, Amy Bennington, PowerNI, said: “Congratulations to this year’s winning club, Randalstown YFC.
We’re really proud to have supported YFCU, not just for the last number of years as Club of the Year sponsor, but also over the last 12 months as the Covid-19 Community Partner.
“Randalstown YFC were one of the many clubs that stepped up to help their neighbours during the pandemic and have demonstrated great development plans for the future – they are worthy winners of this award.”
The YFCU is proud to announce the addition of the Ann Cameron Cup for the YFCU Club of the Year winner.
The Ann Cameron Cup is dedicated to Ann, who was an extremely valuable member and
backbone of the YFCU Head-quarters team, dedicating a lifetime, 47 years, to the organisation. Even after retiring Ann is still deeply passionate about club and member development and we are thrilled to announce the Ann Cameron Cup to celebrate her dedication to the organisation.
Peter Alexander, YFCU President, said: “I would like to congratulate all members of Randalstown YFC for winning Club of the Year. Winning Club of the Year is a massive achievement for all members of Randalstown YFC. A kind thank you to PowerNI for their continued sponsorship of the Club of the Year award.
“The Ann Cameron Cup is an excellent addition to YFCU top awards and it is a fitting title for Club of the Year. I would also like to pay tribute to Ann Cameron on her dedicated lifelong service to the YFCU and continued support to organisation.”
