A lovely relaxing day of dressage was had at Causeway Coast Arena on Sunday October 24.
Competition was hot with most classes being well supported, some fabulous combinations trotting down the centre line towards judge Lucinda Webb. Prizes were kindly sponsored by Steele’s Farm Supplies, Ballymoney.
Jane Smith with her lovely young horse Squirrel took first place in a hotly contested BD Intro B, local vet Rosie Alcorn gaining a very close second with her young horse Goodwin’s Marilyn and Chloe Beacham in third place with Crème Brulee.
Chloe Beacham went on to take top spot in the BD Prelim 1 with her beautiful pony Crème Brulee and Rebecca Coulter took second and third place on her ponies Loughkeeland Jake and Jackets Enchantment, respectively.
Next was the BD Prelim 18 and this time it was Debbie Allen’s turn with Rose of Gethsemane to take first place, just ahead of Heather Fulton and Kings Sonnet.
Heather went on to take the lead in the BD Novice 30 with Alois and Diane O’Donovan in second place with Clarouse.
Jill Hobson, with Hanne, took quite the lead in BD Elementary 50 to take top spot and continued the same form in the BD Medium 63 test.
All proceeds from this show went to RDA Causeway Coast & Glens. The organisers would like to thank Steele’s Farm Supplies for the prizes, all the competitors who supported the event, Lucinda Webb for judging and all RDA volunteers who helped to organise and run the show.
The next event at the arena will be the Hallowe’en showjumping show on October 31, followed by a “Very Early Christmas” Dressage Show on November 7.
A showjumping league will run from November 14, culminating in a Christmas Show and league final on December 19. All entries are online at www.causewaycoastarena.co.uk
