Riders turn out in force for HSI Autumn Development Series

LAST week’s action in the Horse Sport Ireland (HSI) Autumn Development Series began at Barnadown in Co. Wexford, with a range of Show Jumping Young Horse classes sponsored by HSI.

The HSI Four-year-old competition attracted 28 starters, with exactly half of those going on to jump double clear to divide the top prize. The standard of jumping in the HSI Five-year-old competition was also extremely high, with 19 of the 26 starters jumping double clear to share the win. The HSI Six-year-old competition saw victory going to Jason Higgins with ‘Creevyquinn Pearl’ (ISH), owned by Michael Condon, while Emma McEntee took the win in the HSI Seven and Eight-year-old competition with ‘MHS New York’ (ISH), owned by Miguel Bravo.

Tipperary Equestrian Centre played host to the HSI Autumn Development Series Grand Prix on Saturday, where Nenagh’s Liam O’Meara scored a win for the home county riding the Martin O’Meara-owned Irish Sport Horse ‘Curraghgraigue Jack Take Flight’. Eddie Moloney and ‘Temple Alice’ (ISH) finished as runners-up in the six-horse jump-off, while Edward Doyle Jnr and ‘Billy Kat’ finished third.
