THE team at Rowan Equestrian, Lisburn, are currently holding a raffle in store to raise vital funds for the Air Ambulance Northern Ireland charity. Selected by the Rowan team as horse owners and riders, the Air Ambulance is a charity close to all of our hearts.
Being raffled off is ‘Frosty’, their loveable snowman, who is comprised of two tasty Rowan Lodge Farm large round haylage bales.
Olivia Courtney, Rowan Equestrian & Rowan Lodge Farm Equine Haylage, said: “We are delighted to be supporting a charity whose work helps protect us as we take part in our much loved, but high risk sport.
“Their amazing work does not go unnoticed and we are honoured to be raffling off ‘Frosty’ in order to support them. Every little helps and we are so grateful for those who enter and donate.”
The raffle for Frosty closes on January 27, with all funds generated going directly to the charity.
Grace Williams, Air Ambulance’s Area Fundraising Manager, said: “Susan, Olivia and their team at Rowan Equestrian and Country Store, are a real inspiration, coming up with this unique fundraising raffle in support of Air Ambulance NI.
We are so delighted they chose to support us in this way.
“As a service we rely heavily on charitable donations to keep the medical team in the air, delivering critical care to patients who have suffered trauma throughout Northern Ireland – without continued support, the team simply couldn’t fly. Every single penny counts.
With a daily fundraising need of £5,500, we are so grateful to Susan, Olivia and their team for this wonderful support and would encourage everyone to support their fundraising endeavours.”
The Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) responds on average to two incidents daily, somewhere in Northern Ireland. Since the service first launched in July 2017, the HEMS has been tasked on over 3,263 occasions.
The charity Air Ambulance NI, in partnership with the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service, provides the HEMS for Northern Ireland. The HEMS team attend patients who are seriously ill or injured, bringing emergency pre hospital care direct to the casualty, with the aim of saving lives, brains and limbs.
Air Ambulance NI needs to raise £2million each year to maintain this service so public donations are crucial. If you would like to support this life-saving service, there are a number of exciting upcoming events you can participate in including abseils, Belfast City Marathon or you could organise your own event with the charity’s support.
