LECTURE theatres and corridors are buzzing as our students prepare themselves for the fast approaching ‘end of year’ assessments at Loughry Campus, College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE).
This makes it the perfect time to check out what we have to offer at its Open Day, on Tuesday, April 17 from 3pm to 8pm.
The Open Day at Loughry Campus is a great opportunity to find out more about our courses and campus facilities. Recognised as a Centre of Excellence, Loughry Campus continues to prove itself as a route to a highly successful career in the agri-food sector.
Students enjoy the benefits of first class teaching facilities, low course tuition fees and very affordable halls of residence. Furthermore, Loughry graduates are very much in demand with 98 per cent of last year’s graduates gainfully employed in exciting graduate roles with both local and national food companies.
Extending an invitation to the Spring Open Day, Derek McDowell, Head of Food Technology Education, said: “The Northern Ireland food and drink industry is a vibrant, progressive sector.
“It is our largest manufacturing sector and its continual growth needs creative, motivated and talented graduates who can deliver success. Loughry graduates are in high demand, largely due to the practical nature of our courses and the fact they are taught in world class facilities – right on your doorstep.”
Loughry offers courses in specialist areas of Food Technology, Food, Nutrition and Health, Food Business Management, Food Design and Nutrition and in Business for Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise. Courses have a range of entry levels from National Diploma, suitable for students with GCSEs to BSc (Hons) and Masters Degree.
With teaching and learning facilities that are second to none, we offer a clear progression route with the flexibility of full and part-time study.
Open Day visitors can find out more about entry requirements, residential facilities and aspects of funding available including a number of generous bursaries from local businesses.
