SHOW jumping for elite and professional athletes continued at the Meadows Equestrian Centre, Lurgan over the weekend.
Once again, it was the ladies who dominated the proceedings, taking the top spaces in both the 1.30m and 1.35m classes. Winning the 1.30m class was Shannon Robinson with her mother Joy’s ‘Chardonnay’, ahead of regular competitor to the Meadows, Charlotte Harding with Rachelle Harding’s ‘King Diamond’.
Meanwhile, in the 1.35m class, Robinson had to settle for a third place finish, as Omagh rider Niamh McEvoy made in it a one-two on the day. Niamh claimed first place with her father Richard’s ‘Haifa OL’ and second place on seasoned campaigner ‘Templepatrick Welcome Limmerick’, owned by Robin Bingham.
Show jumping continues at The Meadows this weekend, with the continuation of the SJI Show jumping for Horses in Arena 1 on Saturday, April 17. Arena 2 sees a welcome return to Show jumping Training for both Horses and Ponies.
The following weekend, from Friday, April 23 until Sunday, April 25, the Meadows hope to host their Spring Championships, which include ISH Studbook Classes and an SJI National Grand Prix. Please note, this is subject to restrictions permitting two/ three-day shows to go ahead.
