PORTMORE Equestrian Centre, Aghalee held their first SJI Show of 2023 with a two-day horse show on January 28 and 29. Competitors kicked off the season in style, with some great results!
Saturday saw Robyn Hartley take the 1.10m class on ‘RH Live for Now’; Vikki Fox on ‘Bonnie McKay’ took the win in the 1.15m class, closely followed by Melissa McKee on ‘Diamond Beach Babe’ in second and in third was Markus Buser on ‘Kesha’, who then went on to take the win in the 1.25 class.
Sunday saw another great day of jumping – Hannah Blakely on Jane Allen Collins’ ‘Lougherne Contessa’ took the top spot in the 1.10m class; Sven Hadley, making his trip up to north worthwhile, took first and second in the 1.20m class with ‘Siobhra’ and ‘Kabran De Reve Z’ and then went on to take the win in the 1.30 Mini Grand Prix with ‘Kabran de Reve Z’, closely followed by Edward Little on ‘HSC Sunny Jim’.
Sven also took third place with ‘Phenomene Blue VDM’ and Val Joy took fourth place on ‘Imora’.
Show jumping at Portmore will continue this weekend, with the Winter Star Tour taking place on Saturday, February 4, followed by a Horse Pony Training Show on Sunday, February 5.
