South Antrim dairy farmers donate to health department

SOUTH Antrim Dairy Producers’ Group has presented a cheque for £4,000 to the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust’s Neurosurgical Department.

Group secretary Stephen Bell said: ”Unfortunately due to the pandemic we were unable to hold our annual dinner and charity auction earlier this year. As a result, group members decided to make monetary donations to this year’s chosen charity.

“I am very grateful for everyone’s generosity. I received life-saving surgery on Ward 4F at the Royal Victoria Hospital, and I was delighted to present the cheque on behalf of SADP, to Consultant Mr Neil Simms, and ward sister Monica Curran, from the NI Regional Neurosciences Service.”

Ciaran McDonald, assistant service manager at the HSC’s Neurosciences Service, thanked SADP for its generous donation, and confirmed that the money would be used to purchase a new hoist for the unit and contribute to better experiences for patients.
