NORTH Coast Riding Club held their annual Spring Dressage League at Eglinton Equestrian Centre throughout April, with the final being held on Sunday, April 24. It was a great feeling to be able to run the league again this year, and the feedback from competitors was fantastic.
The club would like to thank the three judges for taking time out of their busy schedules to travel to Eglinton; Kelly Kerr, Lana Dunlop and Ivor Harper, not forgetting scribe Stephen for making the job of the organisers easy on the final day. Thanks also go to Leslie and his team at Eglinton for their help and support.
The Intro class proved popular with adults and seniors alike, with Cian Arthur on a winning streak throughout the league with ‘Cheeky Checo’ to take the Junior title and Lorraine Gibson and ‘Maisy’ taking the Senior title.
The Prelim classes were contested right down to the final week, with only collective points separating some of the placings. Lauren McLaughlin and ‘Actinium Lily’ were the worthy winners of the first Prelim class, with Jill McGettigan winning the second class; Jill and ‘Watermill Hollie’ also gained the overall title in the Open class.
Due to requests from competitors, the club is pleased to announce they will be running a Summer Dressage League at Eglinton Equestrian Centre on Sundays, May 29, June 26, July 24 and the final on August 1. More details will be posted on the club’s Facebook page, all competitions are open to NCRC members and non-members.
