Summer league begins at Ardnacashel

ARDNACASHEL Equestrian’s Summer Show Jumping League commenced on Sunday, June 5 and the competitors certainly didn’t disappoint.

With classes commencing at cross-poles right up to 1.10m, there was plenty of competition for the coveted red rosettes.

In the cross-poles class, fresh from winning her class in the recent dressage league, Holly McCarroll started the day off in style with a lovely double clear on her pony ‘Zara’.

Moving up to the 70cm class, Ardnacashel’s regular speed queen Lynne Forbes proved hard to beat with her time of 21.92 seconds with her mare ‘Autumn’.

Another Ardnacashel regular Alex Hemsley, after coming third in the 70cm with ‘Vinnie’, set her eyes on first place in the 80cm and won!

The 90cm class was won by Sophie Price on ‘Molly’ who, after going too fast in the Friday Night Derby against an optimum time, used her speed to her advantage.

Thank you to all the competitors for making the first leg of this league a huge success. Organisers can’t wait to see everyone again next weekend, when the League returns on Sunday, June 12 and they will be adding the incentive of cash prizes in each class.
