GRANSHA’S first Summer Show and Fayre, held on Saturday, July 2, was a resounding success!
The most pleasing comment of the day was that Gransha exuded a great community spirit and all-comers, whether horsey or not, felt very welcome.
The horse and pony sponsors, KR Equine Veterinary Services, Lee Johnston (Farrier) and Equine Touch (Deirdre Bruce) were delighted with the great crowd and vibrant atmosphere.
The judges, Angela Fynn, Sylvia Henry, Jessica Whitney, Jan and Phoebe Beaumont were impressed with the high standards and the quality of the horses and ponies.
Karen Bleakley and Vicky Dobbin had a very difficult judging the different classes in the Dog section – Karen just
wanted to take most of them home! There were over 50 dogs arrived to take part in the various classes and all were very well behaved. Thanks again go to FeedWell and Paws in Motion for their generous prizes.
There was a good variety of trade, craft and art stands located in the indoor Antwerp Arena, including two bouncy castles, which were busy all day.
The pet piglets, lambs and rabbits were a great attraction for both the dogs and children!
The food section was busy all day, with coffee, crepes, pizza and regular burger and chips flying out of the various vans. The weather was so kind that even the ice cream was busy all day long!
