THE sun shone, despite the forecast, on East Antrim’s RDA Pleasure Ride on Sunday, September 5… WOW, what a day! After 18 months of Covid, it was great to be able to be together, with a common bond of friendship and horses.
A big thank you to all the supporters – 100 plus turned out to enjoy the beautiful surrounding of Shane’s Castle, Antrim.
Thanks to Lord O’Neill, the riders were able to safely experience off road riding on country lanes and tracks within hundreds of acres of woodland. Also a big thank you to all the volunteer marshals, who ensured the safety and guidance of all the riders.
RDA East Antrim are looking forward to restarting their sessions with Hill Croft School in Laurel View early October, and from the fundraising at the Pleasure Ride, they are delighted that the year ahead is now fully funded!
The group relies totally on all its supporters and cannot thank the sponsors enough for the goodie bags from Baileys Horse Feeds and Asda. Also a big congratulations to the winners of the spot prizes, sponsored by Doagh Farm Feeds, Old Mill Saddlery and Pots of Pleasure.
Lastly, organisers cannot thank Henry Doggart enough for his photography skills by the bridge down at the river – all photos should be available to download over the next few weeks. Watch out on East Antrim’s Facebook page for details on how to download.
