THERE was a good turnout in Toome of some 130 tractors and two trucks for the charity tractor run in aid of the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
There to see the tractors on their way was local man Paddy Devlin, who suffers from the disease.
After leaving Cargin GAC, the roadrunners went along the Shore, Cargin, Staffordstown roads, Main Street, Toome, the Roguery, Portglenone, Largy, Crosskeys, Roguery roads, Main Street and back to the starting point on the Shore Road.
Main organiser Conor McAuley said it was fantastic to see such community spirit and to see everyone getting behind such a worthy cause.
He expressed thanks to everyone who took part; to all who marshalled, organised registration, took photos, baked buns and supplied biscuits; Cargin GAC for the use of the facilities; Boyd’s Filling Station for supplying the sandwiches, and everyone who helped in any way to make the event a resounding success.
