THE Mid Antrim point to point fixture at Toomebridge, which was due to start the local season, has been cancelled due to ground conditions, following an advance inspection by the Turf Club.
The Iveagh meeting at Moira on Saturday, October 9 will now begin the autumn sector of the Ulster region.
The All-Ireland season got underway at Oldcastle last weekend, when riders were required to sign a disclaimer in the event of injury prior to being allowed to participate. Leading producer of young stock, Templepatrick based Wilson Dennison, recorded success at the initial fixture with ‘Ballycamus’, trained by Sam Curling.
Meanwhile, an advance inspection of the Moira venue by the Northern Inspector of courses, Frankie Fitzsimmons, found the track to be in excellent condition ahead of what will now be the first local fixture.
