Trillick and District members reflect on many achievements

TRILLICK and District YFC’s 2021 summer season kicked off with the annual car treasure hunt with 22 cars in attendance. First place was awarded to ‘Two Keys’ and in second place was ‘Robin Run the Hedge’.

A team of T&D members achieved third place at the Tyrone county knockout and on the same night Shannen Vance gained second in the tractor handling.

The club held its first meeting of the 2021/22 season on September 15

and was pleased to see plenty of returning members, along with seven new ones. Members got to know everyone with plenty of fun ice breaker games and finished off with food!

On October 13 a total of nine mem-

bers headed to Magherafelt to

the public speaking heats. Con-gratulations to Judith McKinley, who was placed first in 25-30 Impromptu.

The rest of crew were back in the hall for the ‘Bring a Friend’ meeting, which took the form of an obstacle course out the back and bouncy castle in the hall.

A great night was had by all!
On October 25, Trillick members spruced up for the annual county dinner in the Silverbirch Hotel. Trillick’s notable achievements included being awarded third club in Tyrone and receiving the membership retention shield.

Many thanks must go to all the members for helping the club strive and succeed over this difficult past year.

Congratulations to Emma Gibson, who is through to the NI final of the Floral Art Competition at 2022 Balmoral Show.

In December the club choir was placed third in the YFCU competition in Portadown. Members are very grateful to Rebecca Mulligan (con-ductor) and Anne Keys (accompanist) for their hard work in helping members prepare for the competition

The club held its annual Christmas dinner in the Bridge Inn in Trillick followed by music from DJ Chris.

Club members send many con-gratulations to Club Leader Colin McKinley and fellow club member Rebecca Mulligan on their recent engagement.

As you can see it’s been a fun-filled period for the club with lots of achievements and successes and members can’t wait to see what the remainder of the 2021/22 season has in store.
