TULLAMORE Show Executive Committee was delighted to hold its Sponsors’ Night for the 2022 show, to be held on Sunday, August 14, including the launch of the programme of classes.
Joe Molloy, Chairman, welcomed Dublin minister Heather Humphreys, John Cahalan and all the FBD team and the many sponsors who travelled from all over Ireland, some who have been with the show since 1991 and others who have just come on board.
Organisers acknowledge the hundreds of volunteers for their dedication year after year. Thanks were also expressed to the executive team, who give up their time so freely all through the year, also the office staff for all their hard work.
Joe highlighted some new classes which have been added to the programme, such as the highest EBI Animal, the robust dairy heifer calf, three new sheep breeds, namely Blue Texel, Spotted Dutch and Dassenkop.
As renewable energy is so topical, the committee has added a renewable energy class on inventions, the pigs are back, including All Ireland Pig of the Year, an action-packed agenda for the beef section across the board. The equine section has added the classical ladies side saddle and introduction to working hunter, to name a few.
John Cahalan, Chief Commercial Officer, FBD Insurance, said: “After two challenging years it is testament to the ambition, determination, and hard work of the organising executive team that we are here tonight, and we thank them for their hard work and dedication.
“We are delighted to continue our relationship with the Tullamore Show this year. As Ireland’s only truly Irish insurance company, FBD Insurance is proud of our farming heritage and our support of the agri sector, and we are proud to be the title sponsor of the National Livestock Show.”
Ms Humphreys was guest speaker for the night. She said: “Tullamore Show, along with all other agricultural shows, has been sorely missed, and its return is warmly welcomed. I commend the hard work of the local organising committee.
“The organisers have shown great initiative and enterprise in the quality of the programme for Tullamore Show and FBD National Livestock Show set for August 14.
“It won’t be long coming around. I was absolutely delighted to attend the sponsors night in the Bridge House Hotel, meeting up with colleagues, old and new.
“I was also particularly pleased to announce €700,000 in funding for
2022 – which I know will be
of huge help to the shows and the committees themselves.”
