MID Antrim branch of the Pony Club were delighted to host their annual Two-Phase competition at Laurel View Equestrian Centre, Templepatrick on Sunday, May 16.

With uncertainty around Covid restrictions and guidelines, the running of the two-phase was very much up in the air this year. Finally, organisers received the news they had been waiting for and, with just three weeks to go, they set a date. From then on, it was full steam ahead for the team as they got the entries opened and set to tidying up the cross-country course after its year off!

In the week leading up to the event, everything was looking good and on target for a great day – everything except for that pesky Northern Irish weather!

After a complete downpour first thing on Sunday morning (which conveniently coincided with briefing the fence judges…), the sun came out by the time the first riders were heading onto the course and stayed for the remainder of the day!

Congratulations to all of the prize winners. Prizes can be posted out or collected from Clonkeen Equestrian Supplies – if you haven’t yet heard from organisers, please get in touch.

Mid Antrim would like to thank the Davis family for hosting the event at the wonderful Laurel View facilities, as well as Andrew and Tommy for all of their work on the course. Mid Antrim would also like to thank the organising committee, the amazing volunteers and, of course, all of the competitors who came out to take part on the day.

Photographs from the cross-country course can be viewed and purchased from Equi-tog at equi-tog.com. A selection of photos from the day can also be viewed at Lyndon McKee Photography on Facebook

Mid Antrim Pony Club truly appreciate the continued support and look forward to welcoming everyone back out with them again soon. Follow them on Facebook or contact them at midantrim@pcuk.org.
