THE Northern Region of Eventing Ireland held a Two-Phase Training Event at Tyrella on Saturday, April 24, with classes at 1.10m, 1m and 90cm, using the majority of fences used in the One Day Event at Tyrella 4.
This was organised in an attempt to allow those prevented by the Covid regulations to get a run around this iconic venue, which always marks the start of the eventing season for so many.
The training event was run in strict accordance with the latest Government guidelines and full Covid protocols were in place.
The excitement on the faces of the competitors young and old was tangible, as they made their way from the show jumping directly to the cross-country. The weather gods were also in their favour for the fourth consecutive week at Tyrella and there is no better place to rehabilitate the mind and the soul as this fabulous setting.
This week sees the eventing entourage head up the North Coast to the wonderful Maddybenny, courtesy of the White families. Sadly, no spectators are yet allowed to join them.
