Tyrone student elected to Harper Adams’ executive

ELECTED: Stephen Evans from Fintona who has been elected to the Harper Adams University Students’ Union Executive Committee to represent student clubs in Harper Adams.

STEPHEN Evans from Fintona in County Tyrone, who is in the second year of the BSc (Hons) agriculture degree programme, has been elected to the executive committee of the Harper Adams’ Students’ Union, the first student from Ireland to be elected to the executive of the union for several years.

Stephen’s role is to represent the interests of all the student clubs and societies within the university, except sports clubs. He will be particularly representing the interests of the Harper-Ireland club, the club within Harper for students from Ireland, which in normal times “punches above its weight” on the social scene in Harper with the annual Paddy’s Ball, and freshers and other acti-vities, including an annual awards’ dinner.

The Students Union Executive Committee has 14 members representing the 3,500 student members of the SU and is responsible for the student activities within the university.
