DAY OUT: Jodie Morrison on ‘Sasha’, Rebecca Belshaw on ‘Hector’ and Sophie Curry on ‘King’ had a good day out at the URRA ride at Tollymore Forest. (FW41-571JK)

THE Ulster Rural Riders Association (URRA) made the trip to Tollymore Forest Park on Sunday, October 7 for the penultimate ride of the 2018 season.

The weather was blustery and chilly, but the 33 riders who braved the elements enjoyed a great hack among the wonderful autumnal colours of the forest and bracken. On some of the higher reaches of the trails, there were splendid panoramas of the mountains. From one high track, a break in the treeline afforded a bird’s eye view over Newcastle, with the striking red brick of the Slieve Donard Hotel at the edge of the Irish Sea.

ENJOYING THE RIDE: Rebecca and John Jackson on ‘Maud’ and ‘James’ enjoying the URRA ride at Tollymore Forest. (FW41-570JK)

Thanks are due to the Park Rangers for their co-operation and assistance with organising this ride.

The final Pleasure Ride of the year will take place in Delamont Country Park on Sunday, October 28, start time 10am to 1pm. Please note the earlier start and ‘clock change’ that weekend!

HOMEWARD BOUND: Left, Desmond Graham on ‘Murphy’, Gillian Downing on ‘Thess’ and Lauran Hagan on ‘Simon’ on the homeward stretch of the URRA ride at Tollymore Forest. (FW41-569JK)

Organisers hope to see a great turnout for this very popular and picturesque ride.
