AFTER a long break, the Whip and Collar Driving Club is delighted to be holding a show at Langley Road Playing Fields, Langley Road, Ballynahinch this Saturday, July 9, commencing at 11.00am.
This show is open to all within the showing world, either in hand or driving, and promises to be an exhilarating day of showing for all the family, with Langley Road Playing Fields being a superb setting for an event of this calibre.
The driving judge on the day is Mrs Georgina Turner from Devon and it is a real privilege to have her come over. Georgina has a lifetime of experience within the horse world, having not only been a prolific highly skilled trainer, but also a driver and horse rider. Georgina and
her late husband Brian had
phenomenal success, includ-ing wins at South of England Hackney Breed Show, Smiths Lawn, Royal Windsor, HOYS, HOYS Wembley, along with remarkable and high-ranking wins in Europe as well. Saturday’s show offers an am-azing opportunity to be judged by such an awe-aspiring, accomplished lady.
The In Hand section on the day will be judged by Suzanne Acres of Ballykeppogue Stud, Wicklow, South of Ireland. Suzanne is dedicated to br-eeding high class miniature horses, with the Ballykeppogue Stud well known throughout this specialised pint-sized circle, having won countless rosettes and trophies to prove they are first class.
The club are appreciative of Suzanne taking time out of her busy schedule to come up north and judge the In Hand classes.
This is also a great opportunity for all the in-hand exhibitors to avail of Suzanne’s experience first-hand.
The club is indebted to all the sponsors for their continual generous support, without which it would be impossible to run shows.
Thanks go to main sponsor H & J Carnduff Butchers, Newtownards, who have been showing in the driving world for a lifetime with many top-quality wins.
