Working Hunter challenges at Gransha

GRANSHA Equestrian Centre, Bangor held a Working Hunter competition on Saturday, November 17.

In the Indoor Antwerp Arena, Madison Gordon had a great day on her pony ‘Teddy’, when she won the 40cm Working Hunter class and was second in the cross-pole class. Eva O’Neill also had a good day, coming second in the 40cm and third in the cross-pole class. Charlotte McAlister rode ‘Ruby’ well to win the cross-pole class.

The remainder of the Pony classes took place in the Derby Arena.

The course posed plenty of problems for the riders, but the ponies managed the lines and distances very well.

Lauren Taylor and ‘Honey Bee’ won the 70cm and 80cm classes, while Stephanie Watt’s ‘Legends Mate’ won the 90cm M&M class and were second in the 80cm Working Hunter class. Emily Hawe rode ‘Crannard King of Hearts’ to win both the 1m M&M and the 1.10m Working Hunter classes.

In the Horse section, judged by Courtney Stuart, the winners were Karen Jeffrey on ‘Junior’ in the 70cm Performance class, Keren Martin on ‘Tia Maria’ in the 70cm class, Kacey Pollock on ‘Oscar’ in the 80cm class, Leah Chambers on ‘Fernville Sir Melody’ in the Small Horse class, Marjory Warnock on ‘Butterfly Charm’ in the 90cm class and Sara Brashaw on ‘Phoenix’ in the 1m class.
